Hey everyone, welcome to the first episode of Lounge Talk With Laz! I’m happy to say that this is finally up and running after weeks of pushing it off. Like I’ve mentioned in previous posts, this podcast will be more informal compared to the other content that I push out every week. Topics will vary from digital marketing, social media, or even some personal things going on in my life that might be interesting to you. My idea is to upload these in the middle of the week on Wednesday along with two blog posts on Monday and Friday.
This first episode kind of touches on my roots and my life as a student trying to graduate and get enough experience in the field to stand out as a strong candidate in my career of choice. Initially I was dead set on being a journalist, but after getting a taste of the industry during my time as a news editor I decided that it wasn’t something that I wanted to continue pursuing. Luckily I had the option to fall back on public relations as a double major in college and I worked toward gaining the skillset necessary to thrive in the digital world.
If you would have asked me a few years ago if I would ever see myself entering the digital marketing world I would have laughed in disbelief, but after graduating with a bachelor’s degree and transitioning to client work during the summer of 2017 did I gain the experience to distinguish myself as a digital marketing specialist. The rest is history as I’m currently working as a district digital manager at General Motors optimizing websites and helping dealers with their digital strategies, ranging from SEO, tracking leads and handling brand reputation on social media.
I hope you enjoy the first episode and I’ll see you next week for the latest and greatest in digital marketing, so stay tuned!
